Latin Books
Latin books (and some Greek) are everywhere. At least in my house, they are. Over the course of almost five decades, first as a student then as a teacher, I’ve acquired a whole lot of books. People have given them to me. Students have left them behind in my classroom and never come back for them. More than one institution in which I was working would have thrown them out (in one case, a whole closet full) if I hadn’t rescued them.
I’d like to keep them all, but I don’t need them all. Many are extra copies. How many copies of Jenney’s First Year Latin does one man need, after all? And so it just made sense to add a book selling feature to this website.
Selections include both introductory textbooks and more advanced texts.
Most of the copies available here are hardcovers and paperbacks that have done honorable service for a number of years in a high school classroom. They would be listed as in Acceptable Condition on one of the book selling websites. Accordingly, they show a fair amount of wear, particularly to the covers. They have all their pages (the older volumes, at least, were made to last). The pages have some writing and marking, but not enough to deface or obscure the text
